Gingerbread house workshop at the library

The Gays Mills Public Library will be hosting the annual Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. Participants will be provided with a little house made from gingerbread set on a base to decorate with icing and candy. The library will provide the house, base and icing and participants should bring items to decorate their houses and yards with.

Suggested items for decorating are small candies like gum drops, licorice twists, jelly beans, Necco wafers and more. Don’t limit yourself to just candy, because pretzels make great fences, marshmallows make good snowmen, and crackers can make nice shingles on a roof.

This workshop is suitable for adults and children over six. Younger children must be accompanied by a parent. Because the houses are made from scratch, they take some time to make and assemble so registration for this event is required.

To register for the Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop please contact the library by Tuesday, Dec. 3. Call 735-4331 or email motis@swls.org to register for the workshop or if you have questions.
