The Grant County Master Gardeners will meet at the home of Judy Soles, 8253 Mockingbird Road, Platteville, Thursday, Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

The program will be “Invasive Species, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.” Soles, who is a lifelong gardener, will be showing attendees many invasive species that are on the 14 acres that she and her husband Bill own. She will be discussing how to manage these species as suggested by Department of Natural Resources practices and how these can be used to encourage birds, bees, and butterflies.  There will also be information on plants for pollination.

Pre-registration is not required. It is suggested that comfortable walking shoes be worn as the terrain is steep, but rides will be available for those who prefer it. There is a shelter in the event of rain.

A business meeting will be held after the presentation.
