Mobile Food Pantry changing location

The Mobile Food Pantry’s location is moving to the new Gays Mills Community Commerce Center located at 16381 State Highway in Gays Mills beginning with this month’s visit on Wednesday, Jan. 23.

This building houses the new village hall and public library and is located just south of the Marketplace on the west side of the highway.

Parking is limited so food pantry patrons are encouraged to arrive only shortly before their assigned service time.

Food distribution is from 2 to 3 p.m. Patrons who picked up time slot assignments last month should bring those slips along this month, so they can be admitted at the proper time.  Those who do not have time assignments will be given one when they check in.

Volunteers are encouraged to be at the Gays Mills Community Commerce Center by 1 p.m. to help unload the truck and set up the food and facilities.

Patrons can help by bringing boxes and bags to hold the food they receive.  Those who received blue reusable bags last month should bring them.

The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry provided food to 135 households during its December visit to Gays Mills.
