"History and Lore of the Outhouse" is the topic of the next evening program at the Vernon County Museum in Viroqua.
On Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. Rev. Ron and Frieda Nowland of LaCrosse will present an entertaining slide show about the humble wooden structure that was actually an important public health improvement that allowed the growth of larger communities. They trace the history and styles of outhouses in Wisconsin and around the world and invite the audience to share memories of this icon of America's past.
The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
