The Woodman Center Button Club of Richland County welcomes the public to attend the Wisconsin State Button Buy on Saturday, June 10.

The event will be held at the Phoenix Center Banquet Hall in Richland Center from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. that day. Admission is free and it is not necessary to be a button club member to attend. In fact, browsing is welcome; with no purchase required.

Woodman Center Button Club members encourage people to come look at and learn about buttons. Additionally, new members are welcome in the club, which has annual dues of $15. More information is available by calling 608-647-4234.

At the Button Buy, a wide variety of sewing buttons of all types, sizes, eras and price ranges will be displayed for sale on about 20 eight-foot tables. (Sewing buttons are not to be confused with pin-back badge-style buttons.) The event will be similar to the Wisconsin State Button Show held at Richland Center’s White House Banquet Hall in 2014.

This year’s special feature will be a 10:00 a.m. presentation on bridle rosettes by Jay Hankee of the Viroqua area. Bridle rosettes are decorative embellishments that can be placed on a horse’s bridle. They are included in the sphere of button collecting, along with cufflinks and belt clasps. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; text-indent: 9.0px; line-height: 11.0px; font: 10.0px Times}

This year, the National Button Society show will be held in Appleton and so no Wisconsin State Button Society show will be held; with the Button Buy in its stead.
