River Bluff Daze in Ferryville offer a day of enjoyment

Oohs & Aahs will be abundant when the Best Fireworks Show around fills the skies over the Mississippi River at Ferryville on Saturday, July 28 at dusk.

A busy and noisy River Bluffs Daze is in store for everyone in Ferryville. The day begins at 9 a.m. with Market in the Park featuring Amish goods, produce and variety of products in Sugar Creek Park.

At the same time, many antique tractors will be arriving at Ferryville Community Center to register for the antique tractor pull. At noon, the Sixth Annual Reuben Knutson Memorial tractor pull begins for all to enjoy.

Beginning at 12:30 p.m., all children will be able to participate in the Kids Carnival at the fire department. Food and beverages will be available at the Community Center served by Freeman Lutheran Church with the adult beverages served by the Ferryville Fire Department and First Responders.

Transportation to the Market in Sugar Creek Park will be available via tractor and wagon from the Ferryville Community Center. Grass Roots BBQ will also have food available at the Market.

Ferryville celebrates 100 years of incorporation as a village this year. Various pictorial memories of the past will be on display that day.

The annual Ferryville Vision & Promotion raffle this year features a quilt entitled “Ducks Gone Wild” as well as Kay’s Potiques original pottery bowl, binoculars, a sensi pot and a $100 Cabela’s gift certificate. All will be on display and raffle tickets available all day at the Community Center. All items will be drawn and winners announced at 9 p.m. The quilt was designed by Virginia Johnson of Olde Tyme Quilt Shoppe and FV&PB members.

The tractor pull will be ending around 4:30 p.m. with the raffle of an Farmall H tractor.

Then, the activity will move downtown where the restaurants will have specials. The Swing Inn will feature prime rib sandwiches with potato salad and the Wooden Nickel will be serving brats with sauerkraut. The Sportsman’s will be featuring the Grilled Cheese Band to begin playing at 7 p.m.

The drawing for the previously mentioned items including the “Ducks Gone Wild” quilt will be at 9 p.m. prior to the fireworks show. The Best Fireworks Show is put on each year by Mike & Roberta Callaway and staff of Cheapo Depott/Fireworks Outlet and also sponsored by Ferryville Vision and Promotion Board with donations by the entire community.
