Local businesses, Wisconsin Badger Camp, and UW–Platteville community are coming together as preparations get under way for the 2014 UW–Platteville Christmas Telethon in support of Wisconsin Badger Camp.

The 41st annual and final Christmas Telethon will look back at all of the previous telethons. It will showcase what makes summer camp unique and how it helps individuals from the Tri-States.

The telethon will be shown on local cable access channels, including Centurylink cable channel 36, Saturday, Dec. 6 from noon to 10 p.m. The telethon will also be streamed on the Internet at www.BadgerCamp.org. The telethon can also be viewed in person at UW–Platteville’s Pioneer Tower.

Local businesses donate auction items or goods which substantially contribute to the overall success of the event. Civic organizations throughout Southwest Wisconsin contribute time and money annually to Wisconsin Badger Camp for the Christmas Telethon as well.

Wisconsin Badger Camp is a non-profit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities by providing quality outdoor recreational experiences. During the 2014 camping season, Badger Camp served 900 individuals from more than 52 counties in Wisconsin and seven other states.

Anyone interested in helping with the telethon or in donating an auction item can call 348-9689.
