UWP to host quilt expo this weekend
More than 100 classes scheduled, including for children

PLATTEVILLE — UW–Platteville will host the third annual Sewing & Quilting Expo Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3–4.

This year’s schedule includes a workshop and class list of more than 100 subjects, including traditional and contemporary quilting, fashion sewing, wool felting, knitting and crochet. A full day of classes is designed just for kids.

Other highlights include a large vendor area, fabric and notions resale room, antique sewing machine display, and “Eclectic Visions” quilt exhibit. All are open to the public at no charge.

The quilt exhibit will be on display in the Nohr Gallery of Ullsvik Hall through Aug. 24.

Lodging is available on campus. Some workshop and class sizes may be limited.  Meal options are available, including a banquet on Friday evening, with a quilt presentation and fashion show.
