GAYS MILLS - The Gays Mills Village Board is looking into establishing a volunteer tree board to assist with planning and management of its urban forest. While the organization and duties of the board are not yet clearly established, community-minded village residents who may have an interest in serving on the board are encouraged to submit their name to Village Clerk Dawn McCann, Director of Public Jim Chellevold, or Village Forester Cindy Kohles.

Not all tree board members will need to have extensive knowledge of trees.  The board will be most effective if its members cumulatively bring vision, creativity, community awareness and enthusiasm together with administrative skills and the ability to pay attention to details.

 If at least one member came to the board with an interest in community outreach and writing skills, that would assist the village forester significantly.
