January 10 & 11

Serious cooks have the opportunity next week to see experts demonstrate some of the major equipment installed in the new Gays Mills community kitchen.

Anyone interested in using the 2,400 square foot, shared-use kitchen, or just curious about it, is invited to a series of demonstrations of the equipment on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, January 10  and 11.

On Tuesday, beginning at 10 a.m., Bob Davis of Muskego, Wis., will demonstrate the Groen 30-gallon tilting braising pan, followed by the Doyon dough sheeter and a Globe 60-quart planetary mixer.

On Wednesday morning, beginning at 9 a.m., Don Mirkovich of New Berlin, Wis., will demonstrate the 3.5-quart Robot Coupe food processor. Then, at 10 a.m., Kim Woolsey of Waukesha, Wis., will demonstrate four different Vulcan kitchen tools – a gas griddle, a gas char broiler, a gas range/oven and a pair of convection ovens.

Either morning is an opportune time to have an advanced peek at the kitchen and other features of the nearly-completely Community Commerce Center, including the meeting hall, library and village offices.

A formal Open House for the Community Commerce Center is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, February 12.
