Findley chosen as district attorney

Preliminary results of the partisan primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 14, named Kate Findley as Lafayette County’s district attorney for 2013. With a tally of 701-617, democratic candidate Findley won the race over democratic candidate Duane Jorgenson. No republican candidates ran for the position. Current district attorney Charlotte Doherty announced she was not seeking re-election for the position.
Findley will serve a four-year term as the county’s district attorney prosecuting all crimes in Lafayette County as well as the county ordnance violations.
In other local elections, the unopposed incumbents for Lafayette County positions received the following votes: Linda Bawden for county clerk, 1,020; Becky Taylor for county treasurer, 1,006; Joseph Boll for register of deeds, 1,002.
