Four finalists for Platteville city manager

The public will get a chance to meet the final four candidates for Platteville’s city manager position in a public forum Friday, April 24.

The public forum and reception will be held in the Municipal Building council chambers from 4 to 5:30 p.m. It will be broadcast on CenturyLink channel 36 and the city’s website.

The four finalists, who will be in Platteville the last weekend in April:
•    Brian Chapman, organizational development specialist with the City of Oshkosh.
•    Karen Kurt, assistant city manager in Edina, Minn.
•    Nicholas Owen, village administrator in New Glarus.
•    Nathan Thiel, city administrator in Mauston.

The Platteville Common Council selected four candidates from the pool of 34, presented by the city’s recruitment consultant, Public Administration Associates LLC.

“The council was impressed by the caliber of the candidates,” said council president Eileen Nickels. “We will have a great opportunity to evaluate the finalists through the interview process and community feedback.”

Questions can be submitted for the candidates via email to plattevillecouncilpresident@gmail.com or sent to the attention of the Council President, P.O. Box 780, Platteville WI 53818 no later than Tuesday, April 21.

Following the hour-long moderated public forum, there will be a reception and an opportunity for the public to interact with the candidates.
