The Seneca School Board held a rather routine meeting on Monday, Dec.  19.

The board did discuss the possibilities of aligning small and large schools from the Ridge and Valley Conference with small and large schools in the Six Rivers Conference for the purposes of football only.

Ridge and Valley Conference Director John Young has requested school districts decide whether they support pursuing possibilities with the Six Rivers Conference for football realignment.

After discussing the matter, the Seneca School Board appeared to be receptive to pursing the idea if other schools in the conference are in favor of it.

The board also selected the SHARE Youth Leadership Group, under the direction of its leader Diane Yager, to be recognized for their work in making and distributing Christmas baskets to needy families and individuals in the area. The board also decided to recognize the school’s football team and coaches for their outstanding season this year.

The next Seneca School Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m.
