The Richland County Board of Supervisors approved several resolutions including one that included the appointment of Jon Hochkammer as interim county administrator and contracting with Public Administraton Associates, LLC, to conduct a search for a new administrator to succeed Clinton Langreck, who recently resigned to become Platteville’s city manager.during a meeting at the Phoenix Center Tuesday night.

Another resolution will allow the Extension offices at East Hall at UWP-Richland to move into space In gthe Communty Services Building. 

The supervisors also agreed to pay a bill Custom Manufacturing, Inc. for a snowmobile bridge replacement.

The board also approved a resolution to allow the Sheriff’s Department to contract to provide up to 20 hours of law enforcement services for the Village of Lone Rock. 

The board also approved deficiency appropriations for various county departments from 2022 although county officials pointed out that the resolution contained several accounts that can be expected to be paid although they had not yet been at the cutoff time.

The county board also passed a resolution approving the Sheriff’s Department to apply for a COPS hiring grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. The board, however, deleted reference to accepting a grant if approved by the DOJ. The grant for $125,000 requires a 25 percent match. Two previous applications for the grant were not accepted. 

The county will purchase new heat exchangers for $19,795 for the Courthouse and an amount not to exceed $55,000 for the purchase of an audio video system for the County Board Room. It also authorized the purchase of Barracuda Essentials Securing Edition, Web Security Gateway and Message Archiver software at a cost of $22,054.80.
