Seeboth elected to Platteville council

Amy Seeboth was elected to the Platteville Common Council at-large seat Tuesday.

Seeboth, the UW–Platteville sustainability coordinator, received 533 votes. Darrel Browning, owner of Browning Motors and the U-Haul franchise, received 419 votes in the race to succeed retiring Ald. Patrice Steiner.

Seeboth won in all four aldermanic districts, 167–145 in District 1, 121–109 in District 2, 53–34 in District 3, and 192–131 in District 4.

District 2 Ald. Eileen Nickels, the Common Council president, was unopposed.

About 15 percent of Platteville's registered voters voted Tuesday.
