Haney, now Airborne

Private Erik J. Haney of Platteville has conpleted several levels of Army training.

Haney completed nine weeks of Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., in May. Haney then transferred to Fort Sill, Okla., to complete five weeks of Advanced Individual Training in field artillery, graduating June 21.

Haney then transferred to Fort Benning, Ga., for three weeks of airborne training. He was one of the 402 students to get his airborne wings July 19.

Haney is now stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., as a member of the 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division.

Haney, a 2010 graduate of Platteville High School, is the son of Randy and Jan Haney.
