Hike at Sugar Creek Bluff part of Ferryville Bluff Daze
Goat Prairie at Sugar Creek Bluff

FERRYVILLE - The Ferryville Tourism Council is sponsoring a hike on Saturday, July 22 at Sugar Creek Bluff in Ferryville as part of the annual River Bluff Daze celebration.

Please meet at the Ferryville Boat Landing (north end of town behind the Cheapo Depot) at 8:30 a.m. for treats, sign-in, and handouts.  We will carpool to the trailhead for the gradual hike to the summit.

Sugar Creek Natural Area is managed by the Mississippi Valley Conservancy. Please wear long pants and bring insect repellant. This will be a family friendly hike to see the summer wild flowers, trees and the awesome view from the top.

Dave Troester, from the Crawford County Conservation Department, will be our guide for this hike. Dave has been up on this bluff many times and is very knowledgeable about the plants and the area. We look forward to having his guidance.

After the hike, please join in the rest of the River Bluff Daze activities:  tractor pull at the village hall (noon), Ferryville Farmer’s Market at Sugar Creek Park (9-3), Kids’ Carnival at the village hall (12 noon-1:30), and terrific fireworks at dusk.  A free shuttle is available for going between Sugar Creek Park and the village hall.
