Hillsboro man hits deer with motorcycle

A 24-year-old Hillsboro man was injured  June 17 when he struck a deer with his motorcycle on Briskey Road in Hillsboro township.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Joshua Quario was northbound on Briskey Road near Hwy. 33 when he struck a deer with his motorcycle at 8:05 p.m.

Quario’s motorcycle skidded, and he suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Gundersen-St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro.

Quario was not wearing a helmet, but was wearing safety glasses.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office was the Hillsboro Ambulance Service, and the Hillsboro Fire and Police departments.

The accident remains under investigation.
