Alcohol was a factor in a one-vehicle rollover Jan. 12 involving a rural Hillsboro man.

David Beck, 50,  was transported by ambulance to Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro for precautionary reasons after the accident, which occurred at approximately 11:24 p.m.

According to a news release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in Viroqua, Beck was westbound on West Ave. when he lost control of his vehicle. It went off of the north side of the road, came back on the road, and then went off the south side of the road down a steep embankment. The vehicle came to rest overturned on its driver’s side in a small creek.

Beck was not wearing his seatbelt.

Assisting at the scene were the Hillsboro Police and Fire departments, Hillsboro EMS, and Ontario EMS.
