The Platteville Jaycees hosted the Platteville Fire Department, represented by Tom Covert (right), and the Platteville EMS, represented by Ryan Kowalski (left), at their February membership meeting in February. Both shared what their departments have been working toward various kinds of department updates, equipment improvements, and how they have been helping the community in the last year. They shared stories of how they have helped citizens during the freezing temperatures and heavy snowfalls this winter. The Jaycees learned of the new technology that the departments are working to acquire and utilize for better emergency management in the City of Platteville and also how it can help assist other neighboring communities as well. The EMS and the Fire Department accepted a community donation to use toward these department updates from Platteville Jaycees President Jarred Altfillisch.
