Members of the Legion Auxiliary, American Legion Post No. 184, and Lorinda Dull from Eternal Arts Monuments, agreed upon a new tablet to be installed in Memorial Park.
The tablet, same style and color as the existing tablets in the park, will be 30”x54” in size, and will be located on the east side of the park pathway, by the flag display.
One side of the tablet will list names of soldiers that were killed in action, or declared missing in action. Their names will be listed according to the era in which they served.
The other side of the tablet, will be dedicated to those who lost their lives, while not combat related, but still proudly wore a military uniform.
Additionally, honor will be given to POWs (Prisoners of War), Wounded Warriors, the disabled, those suffering with mental illness, victims of agent orange, and all those still suffering from the ravages of war.
Names of veterans that were able to safely return to their families and homeland will be also be listed here.
In order to accommodate all the information listed above, and to stay with the same style of tablet, the final cost of the project will be $12, 588.
The target time for installation of the new tablet is this upcoming spring season.
98% of the total cost of the project has been received through donations, but additional donations are needed to complete the project.
As with the originals, all donations can be made to:
Midwest One Bank
American Legion Auxiliary No. 184
