Oh, the weather outside is frightful ...
downtown snow

Platteville, Iowa–Grant, Belmont and Potosi schools were called off Wednesday because of snow, two days after Iowa–Grant and Potosi schools were closed because of ice and fog. Platteville received eight inches of snow one day after receiving 0.7 inches of rain. Temperatures swung 55 degrees between last Tuesday’s high of 53 and Thursday’s low of 2 below zero. Platteville got more snow Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night, with snow predicted for tonight and Saturday night through Monday, mixing with rain Sunday. And yet Punxsutawney Phil and Sun Prairie’s Jimmy the Groundhog predict an early spring.
