Car found without driver
County O crash

Platteville firefighters and Platteville EMS responded to a report of an overturned car on Grant County O near Beagle Lane west of Platteville Saturday around 11:40 p.m.

The car had no driver or passengers at the scene, but the passenger-side front door was open and a “strong odor of intoxicants was coming from the vehicle,” according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The car was owned by Searrah Hendricks, 27, Potosi, who claimed her car had been stolen the previous night. Deputies determined that Hendricks had been driving the car. Hendricks was cited for failure to notify police of an accident, operating left of center, failure to maintain control, failure to stop after an accident — owner’s liability, and operating after suspension of registration.
