The Fennimore Rescue Squad will be providing an open BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR course for anyone who needs certification or recertification on Monday April 6 at 6 p.m. at the Fennimore Fire Station. Interested students can RSVP to training@fennimoreems.com to guarantee a spot but walk-ins will be welcome if there is enough room.

For students affiliated with a volunteer or non-profit public safety agency, the cost will be $30 if you are certifying for the first time or need a copy of the most recent student manual; or $20 you are re-certifying and have the most current student manual. We can directly bill your agency for the cost if you wish. The cost for students not affiliated with a public safety agency will be an additional $5. The course fees go to support our efforts to strengthen the “Chain of Survival” for cardiac arrest patients in our community by increasing CPR awareness and training.

BLS for Healthcare Provders is a classroom course that is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is designed for current healthcare professionals and those planning on entering a healthcare field in the future who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Individuals not in the healthcare field may take the course as well as you will still learn all of the essential CPR skills. Students will be issued an American Heart Association certification card.
