TOWN OF BRIGHAM — A 20-year-old Middleton man was killed in a crash on Iowa County ID near Barneveld Nov. 5.

Devin C. Emberson was driving east on County ID around 6:30 a.m. when his car went off the north side of the road, going up an embankment and airborne for a long distance before rolling over and striking a tree, according to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department.

Emberson, who was pinned in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene by Iowa County Deputy Cororner Virginia Eisele.

Emberson was not wearing a seat belt, according to the sheriff’s department. High speed was a factor in the crash. The sheriff’s department has not determined if alcohol was a factor.

Barneveld Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
