Sleeping in public, or on private property without permission, is one way to get the attention of Platteville police.

Dylan James Westemeier, 18, Cuba City, was cited for public intoxication, underage drinking and resisting or obstructing an officer after he was found at 355 Jewett St. around 6:50 a.m.

Police were called for a report of a man who was banging on the house’s door. The caller told police the man had been sleeping on the house’s porch swing.

•    Ryan Turtal Welsh, 21, Platteville, was ticketed for public intoxication after he was seen at Dewey Street and Jefferson Street July 6 around 3:15 a.m. Police said he was seen sleeping half on and half off the street.
Welsh pleaded no contest in Grant County Circuit Court Monday and was fined $263.50.

•    Drew J. Weber, 23, Platteville, was ticketed for public intoxication after he was seen sleeping against a wall at 96 E. Main St. July 19 around 1:25 a.m. Weber was determined to be intoxicated after he was awakened, according to police.

•    Brian J. Rice, 32, Platteville, was ticketed for public intoxication after he was seen lying on the grass at at Fairfield Court Apartments, 805 Fairfield Dr., July 19 around 1:50 a.m.
