Two arrested for drunk driving after slideoff, traffic stop

A 24-year-old Middleton man was arrested for drunk driving after a slideoff Sunday.

A Grant County sheriff’s deputy came upon a vehicle in the ditch on U.S. 61 north of Lone Elm Tree Road in the Town of Potosi around 5:45 p.m.

The driver, Mitchell Kroll, was trying to turn around when he went into the ditch, the sheriff’s department said.

After a brief investigation Kroll was arrested for first-offense drunk driving and cited for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. His passenger, Benjamin Seman, 24, Dodgeville, was also cited for open intoxicants.

•    A Lake Mills man was cited for drunk driving, and his passenger was cited for underage drinking Feb. 8.
Platteville police stopped a car driven by Travis J. Meyers, 23, on North Second Street while the street was closed Jan. 8 around 2:12 a.m.

Meyers was cited for drunk driving, driving with a blood alcohol level above 0.08, and failure to obey a traffic sign. His passenger, Caleb A. Zastrow, 18, Platteville, was cited for underage drinking.
