Public workshop on housing, finance to be held Jan. 14

The public is welcome to attend a housing and finance workshop titled Planning For a Bright Future, to be held on Tuesday, January 14, at the Pippen Conference Center on the UW Platteville-Richland campus.

The deadline to RSVP is Friday, January 10.

The schedule is as follows.

3:00 p.m.: Sources for housing and business development, led by Impact Seven.

5:00 p.m.: Light Supper.

5:30 p.m.: Housing study Presentation and Planning, led by Southwestern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission Executive Director Troy Maggied.

7:00 p.m.: Facilitated Discussion.

The afternoon session will focus on information for city and county officials, local bankers, housing experts, developers and builders interested in housing development in the area.

The evening session will focus on the housing study results that show demand for 205 houses needed by 2030, as well as the opportunities and obstacles to reach that goal. Local citizens, landowners, bankers, city officials, county officials, housing experts and builders are encouraged to attend.
