Schuchart resigns from Darlington Rural Medical

    At a Rural Medical Board meeting held Monday, March 5. Rural Medical Director Bridget Schuchart resigned from the director position and as an EMT. In a phone call with the Republican Journal Schuchart confirmed the action, but did not want to comment further.
    In what was described as an official notification that was posted on a social media site, the following was confirmed to be accurate by board member Dave Ohnstad.
    The Rural Medical Board met earlier this evening in closed session (March 5).
    The board accepted the resignation of Bridget Schuchart as director of Rural Medical.
    Schuchart also resigned as an EMT. The board thanked her for her many years of service to Rural Medical.
    Dave Detterman was appointed by the board as interim director. He is a paramedic and has the qualifications that are required by the State of Wisconsin. Detterman and his wife live outside of Darlington.
    Nicki Goebel, Rural Medical Secretary, will be meeting with the new director March 6. She will work be working with him as he transitions into the directors position.
    The closed session lasted for 3 hours.
