HAZEL GREEN—Southwestern Elementary/Middle School Principal Jennifer Gallagher is leaving her administrative role to work with technology for schools.

Gallagher was recruited by Dependable Solutions to be a technology integrator for schools, assisting with the technological needs of other schools.

“My goal is to integrate technology into schools through sharing ideas and resources to create and foster growing learning environments for students with diverse needs and diverse goals,” Gallagher said. “I was in a sense recruited for the job, so it was a tough decision to leave the district, but I think I can do some neat things on an even larger scale.”

She has been the principal and special education director at Southwestern Schools for two years. Prior to that, she was an assistant principal, athletic director, counselor and virtual school principal for the Prairie du Chien School District for five years. During that time, she developed Mighty River Virtual Charter School, blending learning environments and leading staff in technology development with Tuesdays with Technology. Prior to administrative experience, Gallagher taught instrumental music for both the Boscobel and Oshkosh Public School Districts for a total of nine years.

She and her husband, Nate, have two children: Jack in fourth grade and Katie in third grade. They will be relocating to the Lancaster area to be closer to immediate family.

Her last day at Southwestern School will be June 30.
