It looks as though the "Caring Angels," who have made news at various Kmart stores across the country have found Platteville. According to Jason Horner, the store manager of the Platteville Kmart, about half a dozen people came to the store's lay-away department prior to Christmas and paid off about $1,300 worth of items for strangers. Horner said the items on lay-away were children's toys.
According to Horner, most of the people who paid off the items wish to remain anonymous. This is the first year that the "Caring Angels" have paid off items at the Platteville store. "It is a growing trend across the country," said Horner, noting he expects the practice to get larger next year.
Upon hearing that items have been paid off anonymously, Horner has the privilege of calling the customers to let them know.
