At a press conference at 6 p.m. Wednesday night, the Lancaster Community Fund, along with the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, announced they had received an endowment of $4.33 million from the Keith and Emily Tiedemann estate.

The money is the largest amount given in foundation history, and will go into an endowment named after Charles 'Sonny' Tiedemann, Keith's brother who many longtime Lancaster residents may remember for getting around in a pedal car because of a handicap from birth.

By comparison, the Lancaster Community Fund, with several family and organizational funds within, has roughly $535,000 in endowments. Since its creation, the fund has given more than $100,000 away in 15 years.

A story spotlighting the Tiedemanns in anticipation of this gift is in Thursday's Grant County Herald Independent.

Due to server issues, the video of Wednesday night's event has not been uploaded, but should be sometime yet Thursday.....
