Attention local history buffs! You have a room of your own—at the Soldiers Grove Library.

A committee of volunteers has organized and expanded the Local History Room on the library mezzanine.

This bright and spacious room houses the library collection of books, pamphlets, scrapbooks, DVDs, and other materials about the history of Soldiers Grove and Clayton Township. Also included are ancient school record books, Cardinal and Trojan yearbooks, fascinating family genealogies, books by local authors, thick Wisconsin and county history tomes, and a whole cabinet full of local newspapers... So come and visit the local history room upstairs at the Soldiers Grove Library!

To see the complete list of holdings, visit the library website at soldiersgrovelibrary.com. Under the history tab at the top of the page, you can select the local history room to browse the collection directory.

The Local History Committee volunteers who brought this project to fruition are Diane Craig, Kathy Olson, Heidi Custer, Pat Vance, Barbara McGlynn, and Gesa Ott.

The library would like to thank the committee members for their time and effort. Thanks are also due to Phyllis Iverson for her donation of yearbooks and news clippings; and to Diane Craig for her donation of a school record book.

Continued donations of historic printed matter and photos relating to Soldiers Grove and Clayton Township are welcome.
