The PHS Scholarship Fund needs to raise approximately $7,000 to take full advantage of matching funds pledged for the Class of 2014.

Fourteen Platteville businesses and business owners have committed to match every dollar up to $17,500 donated to the PHS Scholarship Fund for the Class of 2014. The Class of 2014 will only receive these funds with your help. Donate by Feb. 28, and a $50 donation is boosted to $100; a $100 donation becomes $200.

The Class of 2014 Hillmen are making ambitious plans for their post-secondary education. With the help of area businesses and donors, the community can reach the Class of 2014 goal of giving $70,000 in local scholarships.

“We realize $70,000 is an ambitious goal, but we believe our hard working Hillmen students have earned this support,” said Sheila Kelley, chair of the PHS Scholarship Fund. “We are very thankful for these matching funds and are confident the Platteville community will do everything it can to ensure that our graduating seniors receive the full amount available.”

Matching funds were committed by Block, Scott & Heenan; Cindy Tang; Esterline/AVISTA; Hypro, Inc. – Platteville Operations; Kopp McKichan Law Offices; Lifeline Audio Video Technologies; Livingston State Bank; Mound City Bank; Platteville Development Group; Tim & Chris Budden; Tricor Insurance; Ubersox Chrysler; Wisconsin Bank & Trust; and Woodward Printing Services/The Shopping News.

Donors can help the PHS Scholarship Fund every day of the year through the purchase and use of gift cards. Card buyers receive full value of the card purchased, with a percentage of the card value donated to the PHS Scholarship Fund by the business. The PHS Scholarship Fund is currently offering Kwik Trip, Benvenuto’s and Ashley’s Market gift cards – available through any advisory board member or at the Main Street location of Livingston State Bank, the Platteville Main Street office or the main office at the Platteville High School.
