CREATION OF FAIRY GARDENS as shown above will be one of the many winter wellness activities featured at the Winter Wellness Workshoo in Gays Mills.

GAYS MILLS - Crawford County Farm-to-School invites community members of all ages to attend our Winter Wellness Workshop on Saturday, February 17 at 212 Main Street and the Kickapoo Exchange in Gays Mills.  This is a free and public event. Please RSVP by February 9 with the Crawford County UW-Extension Office by phone at 608-326-0223 or by email at f2s@crawfordcountywi.org.

The Winter Wellness Workshop sessions will include healthy eating and food assistance, crafts and fairy gardens for kids, a cooking demonstration, a survey of composting methods and yoga for everyone!  Visit the Crawford County Farm-to-School webpage for more information: https://crawford.uwex.edu/farm-to-school/

Light refreshments will be provided during breaks thanks to the 4-H Nifty Neighbors! Supplies for crafts and fairy gardens for kids are covered by a generous donation from Crossing Rivers Health. Fairy gardens for kids will be led by Master Gardener Donna Teynor with the assistance of other Master Gardeners. There are only 30 spots available for fairy gardens so be sure to RSVP!  The survey on composting will be lead by Angie Lemar of Recycling Connections. The survey on composting is free and vermicomposting bins will be available for sale through Recycling Connections for $25.

Thank you to all of our donors and volunteers that are helping us provide this event to the community.  We hope to see you there!

Farm-to-School enriches the connection communities have with fresh, healthy food and local food producers by changing food purchasing and education practices at schools and early care and education sites.
