Alfred 'Fritz' Rott, 1955-2013

Alfred “Fritz” Rott, age 58, of Monona, died on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, from injuries in a semi-truck accident.

He was born on Oct. 27, 1955, in Hillsboro, the son of Alfred Marten and Ada “Florence” (Lawrence) Rott, who preceded him in death.

Fritz worked for Landmark Logistics in Cottage Grove for 18 years. He enjoyed driving truck across the country for over 27 years. Fritz enjoyed going to casinos, grilling out, and spending time with his family. Fritz was a jokester and could tell a great story.

Fritz is survived by his wife, Karen (nee Hoger) of Monona; sons, Shane (Venita) Hoger of Madison, and Korey (Lauren) Hoger of Racine; grandchildren, Katelin, Kaleb, Kaylahna, Kyler, Kaden, Kaleah, Ramira, Elise, Kate, and Avery; one great-granddaughter, Ha’lahna; three sisters, Evelyn Rott of Viroqua, Barbara Thayer of Hillsboro, and Karen (Phil) Cutler of LaFarge; and many nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.

Funeral services for Fritz were held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at noon on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013. Burial was at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday.
