GRANITE FALLS, N.C.—Brent William Mergen, 52, of Granite Falls, N.C., died on Friday, April 5, 2013 in a hospital in North Carolina.

Funeral services and burial were held in North Carolina on Monday, April 8 at 1 p.m. A Memorial Mass for Brent will be held on Saturday, April 13 at St. Mary’s Church, presided by Fr. John Meinholz. A gathering for family and friends will follow in the church basement. In lieu of flowers, a Brent Mergen memorial has been established.
