Daniel D. “Danny” McGranahan, age 76 of Lancaster formerly of Darlington passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at Orchard Manor in Lancaster. He was born Feb. 5, 1939 in Darlington the son of Dale and Mae (Helm) McGranahan. Danny graduated from Darlington High School in 1958. He was united in marriage to Louise Marie Ward on Feb. 5, 1963 in Seymour Township. He lived in the Darlington area most of his life. Danny farmed and was a carpenter for many years. He later worked at Nelson Muffler in Mineral Point until his retirement in 1997.
    Danny is survived by his two sons: David (Lorri) McGranahan of Shullsburg and Mark (Lisa) McGranahan of Dubuque, Iowa; and his grandchildren: McKenzie, Cody, Michelle, and Megan. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harley McGranahan.
    Danny was very proud of his two sons and who they grew up to be. He enjoyed building model airplanes and furniture. He was an avid ourdoorsman and hunting enthusiast. Danny was an excellent marksman and founding member of the Darlington Rifle Club. He looked forward to his daily walks on the Darlington trail and was a member of the Darlington United Methodist Church. Danny will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
    A funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church Street, Shullsburg) with Rev. Jeffrey Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
