David J. Tuschl, 53, of Elk Mound, passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, 2013.

David was born on July 7, 1960, in Chippewa Falls, WI, to Clarence and Marian (Benish) Tuschl. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Cooks Valley. He graduated From Colfax High School.

David was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139 for 27 years.

He enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley, and spending time with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife, Linda (Nofsinger) Tuschl of Elk Mound; mother, Marian Trent of Colfax; brothers, Ron (Connie) Tuschl of Colfax and Randy (Rose) Owen of Boyceville; sisters, Betty (Gordy) Kiekhafer of Colfax and Linda (Jay) Morrison of Winter, sister-in-law, Cindy Tuschl of Colfax; brother-in-law, Pat Trapanier of Hayward; son, Brian (Trisha) Tuschl of Colfax; daughters, Candace Shay of Hudson and Kristi (Rob) Isais of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren; mother and father-in-law, Joseph (Shirley) Nofsinger of Mauston; brother-in-law, Mark J. Nofsinger of Madison; sister-in-law, Nancy Baumgartner of Colfax; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, David John Tuschl Jr. “D.J”;  father, Clarence Tuschl; brother, James Tuschl; sister, Diane Trapanier; and grandparents, Matt (Rose) Tuschl and John (Mildred) Benish.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave., Colfax with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Fr. John Potaczek officiated. Burial will be at a later date at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Cooks Valley.
