Dorothy M. Miller, 97, of Avoca, died peacefully at the Sienna Crest Assisted Living home located in Mineral Point, on May 24, 2014.

She was born November 15, 1916 in Crawford County, the daughter of Silas and Carrie (McCartney) Pettit.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Avoca United Methodist Church with Pastor Jean Bartlett officiating, with burial to follow in the Avoca Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Avoca United Methodist Church on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
