Elizabeth Ann (Mezera) Scheckel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on August 21, 2025, at Creamery Creek Assisted Living in Viroqua, Wisc. Born on March 18, 1932, in Bridgeport Township, Wisc., Elizabeth was the daughter of Charles and Lucy Mezera. Her father shoveled two feet of snow for the doctor to get to their house for the birth.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, rural Soldiers Grove. Father Tom Huff, will officiate, along with Monsignor Roger Scheckel, her nephew. Friends may call at Vosseteig Funeral Home, Gays Mills, WI beginning at 4 p.m. concluding at 7 pm on Thursday, August 28.
