Ethelreda Ethel Jenson
1926 - 2018
Ethel Jensen

Ethelreda “Ethel” C. Jenson, age 91 of Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Kieler, passed away Nov. 30, 2017.  She was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Kieler, to Lawrence and Amelia (Weber) Kieler.  Ethel was one of six children who all preceded her in death: Gertrude, Rosie, Wilford, Agnes, and Leonard.  She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Dallas Jenson.
Ethel devoted her life to caring for her special needs sons, Joseph and Jeffery.  Ethel, Joe, and Jeff led an active life and were frequently seen around Bakersfield shopping, eating out and bowling.  She was a good bowler and enjoyed rolling the ball down the alley.  She also played a “mean” game of cribbage; a game she taught her son Jerry.  She hated to lose.
Ethel and Dallas were actively involved with the Bakersfield Association for Retarded Citizens for over 50 years.  She was involved in the Saturday Bowling league right up until the time of her passing.  Ethel loved her “boys” and her last wish was for their long - term health and well-being which will be assured by her family.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Shullsburg, with Rev. MOTHER
M is for the many things she gave me,
O means only that she’s growing old.
T is for the time she spent to guide me,
H is for her heart of purest gold.
E is for her eyes with love light shining,
R means that she’s right and right she’ll always be.
Put them all together, they spell MOTHER a word that means the world to me.
