Frederick “Fred” W. Staskal, 93, Boscobel, died on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Muscoda.

He was born on January 8, 1922 in Hickory Grove Township, near Homer, Grant County, the son of John and Tressa (Ricks) Staskal. He married Madeline Johnson on October 7, 1944 in Burbank, Calif. Fred was born in a log cabin. He served in the Naval Air Corps during WWII. His plane was shot down over the South Pacific and he still carries the shrapnel from that time.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Noon at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel with Tricia King officiating. Burial will be in the Boscobel Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thurs- day, July 30, 2015 from 10 a.m.until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Boscobel Rescue Squad or the Alzheim- er’s Association.

Military honors will be ac- corded by the Blake-Semrad American Legion Post # 134 and the Gilbertson-Pitzer- Radley VFW Post # 10393, both of Boscobel.
