Hazel Lomas, 82, of rural Gays Mills, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at her home on the farm.

She was born on July 18, 1929 in Richland Co. to Frank and Ada (Stetler) Glass. She was married on November 8, 1948 at Birds Creek to Gene Lomas.

She is survived by her husband Gene, of Gays Mills; three daughters, Ruth (Ken) Baures, Mt. Sterling, Goldie (Matt) Barlow, Gays Mills and Bernice Ann (Joe) Lund, Soldiers Grove; son, Bob Lomas, Gays Mills; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; special niece, Janie Barlow; sister, Joyce Montgomery, Muscoda; sisters-in-law, Elsie Glass, Blue River and Evelyn Glass, Boscobel and special sister, Chub of Muscoda.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and five sisters.

Services were held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Beeman-Patchak Funeral Home in Boscobel. Pastor Paula Cook officiated and burial was in the Union Hill Cemetery, Mt. Zion. Family and friends called on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Beeman-Patchak Funeral Home in Boscobel.

Hazel was a very special person. She cared very deeply for her family and friends and was always there for them when it was needed.

The Beeman-Patchak Funeral Home in Boscobel assisted the family with arrangements.
