Hazel Gillen

Hazel Gillen, age 93, of Potosi, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster.  She was born on September 6, 1920, in Harrison Township, the daughter of Clarence and Fannie (Israel) Eastlick.  Hazel was united in marriage to Raymond Gillen on October 18, 1943, at the Lancaster Congregational Parsonage.  She was employed at Rapid Die in Cassville.  Hazel was a member of the Davies Memorial United Church of Christ, the Ruth Circle and the Ladies Aid Society. 

Survivors include her two sons: Ronald (Kathy) Gillen; Steven (Rhonda) Gillen; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, her son, James, a daughter-in-law, Tok Im, four brothers, Purly, Cecil, Glenn, and Guerdon Eastlick, three sisters, Blanche Reese, Inez Bell and her twin sister, Helen Loughton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Orchard Manor Nursing Home Chapel with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating.  Burial will be in Van Buren Cemetery, Potosi.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the chapel.  Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family.
