Helen M. Hocking, 84, of Benton, died Friday, September 9, 2016, at home.  Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the Benton Bible Church in Benton with Pastor Fred Perkins officiating. Burial was in the United Methodist Cemetery in Benton.  
Helen was born on May 31, 1932, in Dunbarton, the daughter of John E. and Bernice L. (Wickler) Ahlstrom.  She married David J. Hocking on November 22, 1953, at the United Methodist Church in Shullsburg.  
Helen delivered both the Telegraph Herald and Wisconsin State Journal newspapers and was a crossing guard for the Benton School District for many years.  She was a member of the Benton VFW Auxiliary.  Helen’s family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very important to her.
Survivors include her children, Mike (Deb) Hocking of Cuba City, Deborah (Fred) Perkins of Zephyrhills, Fla., Tim (Cindy) Hocking of Highland, Randy (Kathy) Hocking of Benton, Tammy (Dan) Steffen of Dubuque, Iowa, Jason Hocking of Benton and Todd (Lisa) Hocking of Highland; three sisters, Lil Rowley and Shirley (Duane) Hastings, both of Shullsburg, and Bev Prine, of Rockford, Ill.; three brothers, John (Barb) Ahlstrom of Warren, Ill., Stanley (Mary) Ahlstrom of Geneseo, Ill., and Donald (Peg) Ahlstrom of Shullsburg; 27 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; a sister, Joyce Heim, and twin granddaughters, Shelia and Shelly.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Kukla and the nursing staffs of Mercy Medical Center, Epione Pavilion and Hospice of Dubuque for their care and concern.
