Jack E. Davis, 77, of Beloit, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, after a courageous two year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He was born July 13, 1939 in Beloit, the son of Raymond and Eleanor (Argo) Davis.  Jack married Lois M. Cannon on March 16, 1956 in Darlington Methodist Church, Darlington.
Jack was formerly employed for 30 years at General Motors in Janesville, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of the UAW Local #95 and Krueger Haskell Men’s Golf League. Jack’s hobbies were taking care of his meticulous yard, woodworking, golfing, turkey and deer hunting. He was an avid Minnesota Viking fan.  Jack’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his many buddies at the golf course.
Survivors include his wife Lois Davis of Beloit; children, Joyce (Dennis) Olson, Roger (Laurie) Davis both of Beloit, Shari (Alan) Wagner and Dan (Mary) Davis both of Janesville; grandchildren, Eric (fiancé Brenda Jensen) Olson, Kristi (Ryan Smith) Carter, Lindsey (John) Schuelke, Abbey Davis, Andrew (fiancé Tera Holtz) Wagner, Karli (Alonzo Arias) Wagner, Tanner (Tammy Troyan) Davis and Mike (Audra Gorman) Davis; great grandchildren, Wyatt Olson, Eliott Olson, Gabryele Olson, Mya Montalvo, Teylor Carter, Cora Schuelke, Olivia Schuelke, Noah Davis, Braden Davis, Ashton Glatz, Gavin Jensen, Riley Jensen, Braelyn Smith and Tiana Smith; brothers and sisters, Harvey (Marlene) Rayner of Lyndon Station, Colleen Fischbach of Waterford, Alta Burns of Beloit, Monty Rayner of Beloit, and Anola Gaddis of Houston, Texas; sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Davis of Louisville, Ky., Susie Davis of Beloit, and Connie Rayner of Beloit; brother-in-law, Michael McCann of Elkhorn; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Donald (Donna Mae) Bagby, Gerald Davis, Bert Davis, Larry Rayner and Jim Davis, sister, Carolyn McCann, brothers-in-law, Richard Fischbach and Ronald Burns, and grandson-in-law, Jamie Carter.
Funeral service for Jack were at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating.  Burial was in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, Ill..  Visitation was from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice.
