Jacqueline R. “Jackie” Hartwig, age 86 of Monroe formerly of Argyle, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe. She was born June 25, 1930 in Woodford the daughter of Warren and Emma (Curry) Martin. Jackie graduated from Monroe High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Ivan F. Hartwig on December 29, 1948 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Monroe. Jackie grew up in Woodford. Following her marriage to Ivan she moved to rural Monroe where she farmed with her husband until 1960 when they moved to rural Argyle. In 1990, Jackie moved into the village of Argyle where she resided until moving back to Monroe in 2013. Jackie worked as a supervisor at Swiss Colony in the Cheese Packaging Department for many years until her retirement in 1995, but continued to work seasonally for many years.
Jackie is survived by four children: Linda (Mike) Flentje of Manitowoc, Debra (Toby) Kuecker of Sun Prairie, Kevan (Kristine) Hartwig and Tom (Cheryl) Hartwig both of Argyle; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ivan on January 2, 1990; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Jackie was a member of Fayette United Methodist Church in Fayette and was a past member of Woodford Methodist Church and Argyle United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending her free time gardening, playing cards – especially Euchre and 500, was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and truly enjoyed singing for many years. Jackie cherished the time spent with her family creating memories that they will cherish for a lifetime. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Fayette United Methodist Church (11013 County Rd. F, Darlington, WI 53530) with Rev. Angela Steinhauer officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle.  A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jackie’s name.
