James H. “Jim” Kingeter, 82, of Platteville died on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at his home in rural Grant County.

An informal Celebration of Jim’s Life will be from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville.  A meal will be served throughout the celebration. At 2 p.m. there will be a time of sharing and military rites accorded by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5274 at 2:30 p.m.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.  Jim was very specific in his wishes for this celebration, wanting family and friends to truly celebrate his life.  Memorials may be made to the Jim Kingeter Memorial Fund.
