Joann Marie (Blaha) Anderson, 71, of Janesville, WI passed away at UW Hospital in Madison on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 following a brief illness.

Joann was born on March 30, 1942 in Vernon, County WI, the daughter of William and Agnes (Kratche) Blaha. She grew up in the Hillsboro, WI area and graduated from high school there. She married Harold E. “Dewey” Anderson on June 25, 1960 at the parsonage of the church in Dell, WI. Following the marriage, Joann moved to Janesville. She was formerly employed  by Prent Corporation and later by Simmons USA. Joann loved flowers and most of all, her grandchildren and her best friend and daughter, Debbie Stanek. She also loved spending time at the family trailer in Hillsboro so she could be close to her beloved son, Dan, who preceded her in death in 2002.

Joann is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harold “Dewey” Anderson, one daughter, Deborah (Mark) Stanek of Janesville, five grandchildren, Jordan Stanek, Shelby Stanek, Jolene Stanek, Kristen Anderson, Cody Anderson, three great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Mya and Caleb, one sister, Janice ( Brian) Trappe of Madison, WI, one brother, Francis (Bonnie) Blaha of Hillsboro, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Dick and Phyllis Anderson, Gary Overboe, Robert Fanta, a former sister-in-law, June Blaha of Hillsboro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her son, Daniel Anderson and her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Fanta, one brother, Donald Blaha, 2 siblings who died in infancy, her sister-in-law, Donna Overboe,  great-niece, Lillian Blaha and her special dog, Bootsie.

A visitation was from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan., 26, 2014 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro, WI with visitation there from 12:30 Monday until the time of the service. Rev. Roger Miller officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Hillsboro.
